500 m2 complex hosting a double-height exhibition hall of Harlan Levey Projects on the ground floor and above the office/ workshop of studiokhachatryan

First constructed in the 1890s, the building underwent various renovations over the years, studiokhachatryan unified the different elements by reviving certain features and introducing others. 

A central switch-back welded staircase that links to the two programs is sturdy and functional and, because of that, has a bold aesthetic presence. Other than a fresh coat of paint, some parts were left untouched.

2019Beirut, Lebanon


A zen and precious penthouse apartment with panoramic views in the heart of Beirut.&#38;nbsp;

The floor plan unfolds as a platform around a rectangular central block. Circulation revolves around the edges of the central block, not merely conceived as a boundary to the outside world, but also regulates the organization of internal activities. 
Vast surface and nature of the floor plan determined the choice of noble, but sober materials such as Patara marble and Elm wood. The wooden ceiling, custom developed for this project, not only hides the utility lines, but also provides sound/acoustic insulation. The kitchen island in patinated bronze and ceramic stone, seamlessly blends into the environment in a similar fashion. The monumental wall in Guatemala Verde marble, contrasting sharply with the rather low-key environment, dominates the dining room. 

The jade-green box of Pentelico marble covering all four planar surfaces of the master bathroom. When all sliding doors are open, a kaleidoscopic perspective en enfilade unfolds, revealing four rooms with similar proportions but with diverging functionalities and finishes. The guest bathroom is entirely executed in Arabescato.&#38;nbsp;

The Case II series extends the original “Case” collection, rooted in a study of form and proportion on the Armenian monumental architecture.


The unusual warm black wax finish, applied to basalt serves to abstract the material’s presence, shifting the emphasis toward the objects’s silhouette and the subtle traces left by the sculptor’s chisels.

Sculptural compositions crafted from industrially cast bronze. Harmonizing linear and organic graphic structures, with a dynamic interplay between the vertical and horizontal elements of each object. The series of eight tables can be arranged as a sculptural installation, forming a cohesive visual dialogue,&#38;nbsp;or used independently as freestanding side tables.
