hy [b]
Stool2023
Part monolith, part cave, this stool takes its title from its hyperbolic shape.
Taking the 2022 hy design as its starting point, using only straight planks to connect vertical and horizontal elements of the stool in one movement. While the object has a monolithic appearance from the back, the open front functions as a cocoon. This new faceted bronze edition is an exploration of the material potentiality of an existing form. The bronze casting process introduces the idea of fluidity as the liquid is turned into solid in one single gesture. hy [b] was cast as a single piece and has different finishes on its sides and top.
